Today's article by Marc Stiles/Puget Sound Business Journal reports on the latest condo tower scheduled for construction on Seattle's First Hill and references other condo projects planned in downtown Seattle. Nearly all the new residential development under construction or planned in both downtown Seattle and Bellevue is rental apartments. Downtown Bellevue has experienced a shortage of available resale condos for the past 12-18 months and there is no new condo construction on the horizon. All the tower cranes visible right now in downtown Bellevue are on commercial office or rental apartment sites. This is good news – hopefully the trend means there could be condo development in downtown Bellevue in the not-too-distant future.
